Appointment Types and Fees
-
Your first appointment is a 50-minute in-depth evaluation where we assess your mental and physical health history, establish diagnoses, and begin building a personalized treatment plan. We’ll review past treatments, explore current concerns, and take a deep dive to uncover the root of the problem. For more complex histories, a second session may be needed to fully understand your experiences and develop the best course of action. Lab testing is often recommended at this stage, with results reviewed in a follow-up session.
-
In follow-up sessions, we’ll review any changes since our last meeting, track progress, and refine your treatment plan. We’ll assess what’s working, address concerns, and adjust medications or supplements as needed. A 25-minute visit is ideal for monitoring progress and making small but meaningful adjustments, while 50-minute sessions are best for those incorporating psychotherapy into their care.
-
This follow-up format allows time for medication management, psychotherapy, reviewing any lab results or diagnostic testing, and a more in-depth review of your treatment plan. It includes everything covered in a 25-minute follow-up, plus space for therapeutic interventions or a deeper assessment of your progress. If we meet less frequently, these longer sessions ensure we have time to catch up and make meaningful adjustments to your care.

KAP appointments last approximately 120 minutes and are held in person at Wily Wellness. These sessions are medically supervised by a Wily Wellness Nurse Practitioner and include psychotherapy during each session. The time under the effects of the ketamine vary by person depending on physiologic response. See our Ketamine page for details.
-
Ketamine Treatment is a medical-only session for individuals who have already completed an induction series of ketamine treatments either at Wily Wellness or elsewhere and are continuing ketamine therapy to maintain progress. See our Ketamine page for details.

For patients just getting started—or those returning after a relapse of depressive symptoms—we offer packages of ketamine treatment sessions. These packages provide a structured approach to care during times of transition or increased need.
Whether you’re new to ketamine treatment or resuming after a break, our packages help establish momentum and ensure continuity of care, while also offering predictability in scheduling and cost.

🕒 Important: Packages expire 3 months from the date of purchase.

Payment Options
Wily Wellness is not in network with any insurance companies, so we are unable to bill your insurance company directly. Learn our rationale for this here.
You may be able to use your insurance for some types of services through Reimbursify and/or your FSA/HSA cards. See below for more details.
If you have Medicare or Medicaid (also called AHCCCS in Arizona), please see this page to understand your options.
-
We prefer credit card payments, even though they incur a hefty fee for us. We find that the automation they afford is worth the cost. We can, however, accept cash if you prefer. We do not take personal checks.
-
We accept FSA or HSA credit cards with a Visa or Master Card logo. The debit cards are sometimes rejected by our payment processor, so we can not accept those. Regardless of which kind of care (FSA or HSA), it is your responsibility to verify with your insurance carrier that these treatments are an allowable expense for your policy.
-
We have partnered with Reimbursify for you to easily submit your claims for out-of-network health insurance reimbursement. If you have private health insurance (not Medicare or Medicaid (AHCCCS), make sure to file your claims using the Reimbursify app. All claims are free for our practice. Download the app to get started today!
The amount of reimbursement is highly variable depending on your plan. Please note that intramuscular and oral/sublingual ketamine treatment for mental health is not covered by any insurance companies in Arizona. You may be able to get some reimbursement for the office visit, however.
If you plan to try Reimbursify, please let us know so that we can prepare a Superbill for you.

The Serenity Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that sponsors ketamine treatment for depression, PTSD, and other mental health issues to those struggling with financial means and failed conventional medications and treatments. They have a brief application form with a 48-hour turnaround time on a response.
-
We are offering patients the option to finance their treatments interest-free through Advance Care Cards, a medical financing service for healthcare procedures. Wily Wellness is an enrolled practice, but as this service is new to us as of March 2025, we do not yet have firsthand experience with it.
We are providing this option in response to requests from prospective patients; however, we have reservations about individuals taking on debt to finance their treatment. This is a personal decision, and we encourage you to carefully consider whether it is the right choice for you.
Does Insurance Cover Ketamine?
Ketamine treatment for mental health is considered “off-label” and is not typically covered by insurance. While some states are beginning to expand coverage, it is not yet available in Arizona.
That said, some aspects of your care may be eligible for reimbursement. Initial intake appointments and follow-up visits may be covered, depending on your plan. Wily Wellness provides Superbills with the necessary diagnostic and procedural codes to submit to your insurance company. To simplify this process, we also subscribe—on your behalf—to Reimbursify, a service that helps streamline reimbursement and reduces the hassle of dealing with insurance bureaucracy.
For chronic pain, ketamine may be covered under certain policies. However, the protocol for pain management differs from its use in mental health treatment. Wily Wellness specializes in ketamine for mental health, not chronic pain.
One FDA-approved ketamine treatment for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) is Spravato (esketamine). Insurance may cover Spravato, but it requires prior authorization and must be administered at a certified Spravato clinic. Wily Wellness does not offer Spravato at this time. If insurance coverage is a priority for you, Spravato may be worth exploring, though it is less effective than IV or IM ketamine—but still beneficial for many people.
